Project Reports
Home Description Schedule Discussions More

The purpose of this document is to provide you with guidelines for your team project, the presentations and the project report you turn in. This supplements the project information on the course description page.

  1. Each group member must participate (stand up in front of the class and speak) in the group presentation. Each member will be evaluated individually on the presentation and the group as a whole will also be evaluated.
  2. The project report must be typewritten on 8.5 x 11 inch paper. It must be double spaced, with a 1 inch margin on each side. Pages must be numbered and references must appear on the last page (after any appendices).

You should use what follows to guide you in your analysis and report preparation. Each report must contain the following pages and sections.

  1. A title page.
  2. A table of contents with page numbers.
  3. A one-page executive summary.
  4. A description of your firm’s business model and its competitive environment.
  5. A detailed description of the portion of the firm’s business model that will be affected by the technology.
  6. A use-based description of the technology (i.e., what does the technology enable one to do?) and its impact on efficiency/effectiveness of business processes. Technical descriptions are not necessary, unless they are necessary to embellish the use-based description.
  7. A detailed description of how this technology can be used by the firm to transform the portion of the business model described in section v.
  8. An analysis of the potential competitive impact of the technology to the firm (including investment timing considerations).
  9. Conclusions
    Brief summary and your conclusions.

Your analysis must draw on the material covered in the course. Further details will be provided in class, as needed. You are to turn in a written report describing the outcome of your investigation. The degree of synergy and integration between the different sections of your presentation and write-up will have a large impact on your grade.
